Reno Omokri has said that 59 years after Independence, Nigeria is going backward instead of making progress.

The lawyer, a constant critic of the administration, made this disclosure on , where he went back to the past to reveal that Nigeria exported palm oil to Asia in 1960, but presently spends $500 million importing palm oil from the same place; an obvious sign of retrogression.

Reno Omokri recently addressed the issue of the alleged plot to humiliate the Vice President, , and remove him from office. He pledged his loyalty to the cleric, despite being at odds with and said they would do anything to make sure that he remains where he is.
