HBO is near to closing a pilot order for a second Game of Thrones prequel TV Show, set 300 years before the original series and will explore the history of House Targaryen.
The first prequel series, starring Naomi Watts and set during the fabled Age of Heroes (6,000 years before Game of Thrones begins), has finished shooting its pilot and is currently awaiting a full series order.
The House Targaryen prequel could feature characters like Aegon the Conqueror and his sister-wives Rhaenys and Visenya, as well as the dragons that they used to conquer Westeros. These are the ancestors of Daenerys Targaryen (played by Emilia Clarke), who spent the eight seasons of Game of Thrones launching her bid for the Iron Throne.
Whatever the plot of the upcoming series will be, it will be an intriguing watch as the Targaryens are known for their ‘madness’ (associated with their incestuous relationships), fiery temper, and awe-inspiring dragons. Hopefully, more news will be revealed soon.
