Suspected armed robbers were reportedly said to have beheaded a police officer during their attack at Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) mega station in Ilorin.
According to reports, the police sergeant alongside other security personnel attached to the station were beheaded during the attack on Saturday.
Spokesperson of Kwara State Police Command, Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the incident, he said more details will be revealed shortly, adding that the matter is under investigation.
He said, “The death of a policeman and attack is true but the command is still investigating the issue.”
The robbers were reported to have attacked the fuel station on Saturday night after workers at the station had left for their homes.
