Manchester United kept their perfect 2017-18 Champions League record intact with a 1-0 win at Benfica courtesy of a goalkeeping howler from Mile Svilar.
The 18-year-old keeper misjudged the flight of a swerving Marcus Rashford free-kick to carry the ball across his own goal line, handing all three points to United.
Jose Mourinho’s side did just enough for the win, but the coach will be concerned after matchwinner Rashford limped off the pitch in pain towards the end of the game.
The deciding moment was a nightmare for the 18-year-old on the night he replaced Real Madrid great Iker Casillas as the youngest goalkeeper to start a Champions League match.
