The “Joro” singer in a sit down radio interview with Capital Xtra reveals how he elevated his music career from the ghetto part of Lagos to becoming a talent the world is reckoning with.
Describing his music journey, he said “Holla At Your Boi” wasn’t actually the song that proclaimed him as against popular opinion but “Don’t Dull”. According to Wizzy, when he released “Don’t Dull”, the buzz was massive as it became a party jam.
Describing the success of Ojuelegba, the contemporary Afrobeat singer described the song as something that blew beyond his expectation. He was down emotionally while he recorded the song as the last work for his ex record label, Empire Mates Entertainment (EME).
“I left the label with zero naira. I mean as Wizkid without money”, the Starboy said.
Wizkid lives in Nigeria, also shuffles between United States and UK.
