Kanye West: Rapper Currently Facing A Legal Battle Over Yeezy Brand Name
Kanye West

Reports from TMZ claims that Kanye West, although has the right over Yeezy-branded footwear, the rapper has failed to file the required trademark paperwork for the
Yeezy brand name. Kanye’s company apparently abandoned the trademark for clothing in 2017. It’s unclear why Kanye, 40, and his team did not file an extension request, but one Chinese-based Fujian Baby Network Technology Co. has secured the “Yeezy Boost” trademark for its clothing products and they are not letting this potentially lucrative opportunity go by.

TMZ’s reports added that Kanye’s brand reportedly attempted to refile the application for Yeezy-branded apparel; however, they were informed that the name had already been taken.

So, was this a mistake on Kanye’s part? Or does he no longer need the Yeezy trademark for clothing?

Earlier this month, fans began speculating that Yeezy Season 7 would not include apparel or accessories and would only deliver footwear. The rumors began circulating after the social media account Yeezy Mafia claimed Kanye had invited buyers to an empty showroom earlier this month:

“It was an unexpected meeting explaining that there won’t be any apparel or accessories for SEASON 7 as Kanye West couldn’t do what he wanted to achieve with this collection,” one of Yeezy Mafia’s tweets read.

Kim Kardashian, who has been spotted wearing presumed pieces from Yeezy Season 7, termed the reports “false”.

Will Kanye West take on another Yeezy-related legal battle ? It’s definitely possible.
