“Free Uzi” is Lil Uzi Vert’s first single released in the midst of his retirement from music and record label troubles. The instrumental, produced by DJ L Beats, is used in G Herbo’s 2012 song “Gangway.”
The song’s title is in correlation with Uzi’s recent struggles with Don Cannon and DJ Drama’s record label, Generation Now, to which he signed within 2015. “Free Uzi” was a newly coined mantra by fans a few days prior to the release of the song, calling for the release of his second studio album, Eternal Atake.
“Free Uzi” was initially released exclusively through TIDAL in connection with Uzi’s recent management deal with JAY-Z’s entertainment company, Roc Nation. It was later released on all platforms following its accompanying music video directed by Qasquiat.
The song was first previewed in an Instagram
I can make your lil’ bitch just wanna percolate
Sex first then we can have a after-date (Yeah)
Gave me head ’til my shit, um, decapitate
Look me in my eye and do, um, that nasty face (Woah)
Make it rain in the club like a nasty day
Told ’em that I’m comin’, oh, no ejaculate
Pastry, pocket, boy, you not havin’ cake
Fuck that overcoat and I swear your jacket late
Bro just made his money back off a half a plate
Rollie cost me 40 thousand, that’s half the face
