Accra-born singer, Mzbel featuring Castro on 16 Years is another Throwback pick for us this week. The quite hilarious visual of 16 Years got us reminiscing the early groovy years of the 2000s. Seeing this video will make one appreciate the advancement in coloured TVs.
Mzbel, when she released 16 Years, became one of the most influential musicians in Accra, Ghana.
However, Mzbel is no longer in the buzz for her music but for controversies. At a time the singer was on a programme, ‘Restoration with Stacy’, she made the declaration that left the host in awe. According to her, she does not believe in the man mooted to be the founder of Christianity, as according to her research he might have been made up. In response to ‘do you believe in Jesus Christ?’ she responded; “I don’t want to step on the toe of anybody. I used to believe in it but I did my own research and I think it was made up. I might be wrong. The same story 5,000 years ago happened in Egypt”
According to Mzbel, she is no longer a Christian but still believes in God.
