Chelsea and Arsenal had their first encounter this season in the Premier League tournament and it was quite tough for both teams as the match ended 3-2 in favour of the former.
Alonso‘s late goal sees Chelsea edge a thrilling London derby, handing Sarri two wins from two and condemning Emery‘s Arsenal to a second defeat in a row. Both sides showed promise throughout the game but the hosts were deserved winners in the end.
Chelsea will certainly feel they have work to do defensively after throwing away a two-goal lead in the first half but things look good under Sarri. Six points from six is the ideal start to life in English football and the Blues will be confident of extending their run of form in next week’s trip to Newcastle.
Arsenal were ultimately made to pay for defensive mistakes and wasted chances in attack, with Aubameyang, in particular, having a day to forget. Emery’s tough start to life in the Premier League has left the Gunners pointless, raising the pressure ahead of another London derby against West Ham next weekend.
