#SayNoToXenophobia: Here Is What South Africa's President Has To Say
Attacks On Nigerians Cannot Be Justified

President Cyril Ramaphosa has condemned the killings of Nigerians in South Africa by the citizens of that country.

President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa has reacted to the killings of Nigerians in that country, saying there can be no justification for any South African to attack people from other countries.

President Ramaphosa on Tuesday, September 3, said the people of South Africa want to live in harmony, adding that whatever the issue is, it should be handled in a democratic way.

“The people of our country want to live in harmony; whatever concerns or grievances we may have, we need to handle them in a democratic way. There can be no justification for any South African to attack people from other countries.”

Ramaphosa expressed displeasure over the xenophobic attacks, saying the country will continue to work tirelessly to build a safe South Africa.

“Our security forces are on high alert. Whilst in no way, can we take away the sense of deep loss and unbearable pain you experience, as a country we commit ourselves to continue to work tirelessly to build the kind of South Africa, where indeed women and children will be safe.”
