Following the viral video of the UNILAG lecturer who was exposed in the sexual harassment case, the educational institution has shut down the location called the ‘cold room’.

The ‘cold room’ was mentioned in the video footage by Dr. Boniface Igbeneghu, who revealed that it was where lecturers took female students to have “the cold room experience”- inappropriate relations for academic favors.

The announcement was made by Taiwo Oloyede, the Principal Assistant Registrar (Communication Unit) of the school.

A lot of Nigerians have commended BBC for the documentary, giving their approval in the ongoing quest to uncover more lecturers in the various institutions where the scourge of sexual harassment was still rampant.

Dr. Igbeneghu has been suspended by the school and a panel is to be set up to further investigate the case.
