A female student (name withheld) of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) in her second year studying History and Diplomatic Studies delivered a baby boy after multiple attempts to terminate the pregnancy with abortion injections.
The student who is resides in Bodus Hostel in Ijele reported had a safe self-delivery of a premature baby in the wee hours of Tuesday, October 24, tried to dump the baby but she ran out of luck when an ex-commandant of the Red Cross TASUED Chapter got wind of the event and intervened by taking her with the assistance of a nurse in an ambulance to the school clinic.
According to reports by Arystocratz Media, an eye witness account revealed that the student had gone to the bush so she could deliver the child and leave the child there but unfortunately, she couldn’t give birth to the child there and had to go back to her room.
She eventually delivered the child in her room and cut the umbilical cord all by herself. It was also gathered that the father of the child stays at Maiduguri and has accepted the pregnancy before the birth of the child but the mother doesn’t want the child. It was also gathered that the parents of the mother weren’t aware of the pregnancy, but they have been contacted by the school clinic.
