Born Anidugbe Oluwatobiloba Daniel aka VADO he came out with his chart toping single WOJU even though his prior release, SHOYE didn’t give the push. Consequently, he made hit after hit. He’s arguably the most complete artiste right now as his album “New Era” shows the only thing better than his melodious voice is his amazing lyrics.
Born Simisola Bolatito Ogunleye, this amazing songwriter with tiny voice is a marvel to behold. One of the best storytellers in the industry. Songs like Love Don’t Care, Tiff will show you how she will make a beautiful song out of the simplest of thoughts.
(3) ASA (meaning hawk in Yoruba)
Born Bukola Elemide, her songs are usually thought-provoking. After dropping Fire On The Mountain in 2009 it became obvious she’s in a league of her own. Other tracks like Jailer, Dead Again, Eyo have such deep meaning but even though some of her songs show unnecessary attempt to be deep, she’s still the best.
(2) TIMI DAKOLO
Born in Accra Ghana but of Bayelsa origin, is celebrated today as the king of soul music in Nigeria. Timi has everything; the voice, the lyrics. the swag. Songs like Wish Me Well and Iyawo Mi will leave anyone spellbound. He definitely makes the best love song in Nigeria.
Brymo’s music is a mixture of fuji, R&B, pop and rock, he said his music can easily be called pop due to its ability of getting across to the people. Brymo’s Merchants, Dealers & Slaves and Tabula Rasa albums have addressed social injustice and chaos that are prevalent in Nigerian society. In a 2016 interview with OkayAfrica, Brymo was quoted as saying: “Although my songs reflect many issues which are relevant in my society, I believe that human relations is the site where all issues emerge.“
