Blak Shakespear and Gida Hills kickstart another discussion in this edition of Hip-hop in 5 mins taking an autopsy into what killed the genre in the Nigeria music scene.
As far as Blak is concerned, hip-hop is just evolving in Nigeria, the game was never better. Gida made reference to early rappers in Nigeria – the likes of Eedris Abdulkareem, Ruggedman and Mode 9 that started the hip-hop thing which Blak doused off saying these rappers weren’t hitting it right then, describing some of them as ‘wack’.
